Thai Massage

Thai Massage uses passive stretching and gentle pressure along the body’s energy lines to increase flexibility, relieve muscle and joint tension, and balance the body’s energy systems.

Thai massage typically works with compression — rhythmic pressing movements directed into muscle tissues by either the hand or fingers. The therapist moves your body into various stretches and positions, without any work on your part. This is why it is sometimes called "lazy man's yoga". Thai massage can be both relaxing and energizing, so it is a good choice if you want to be active after your massage.

The therapist uses a variety of different sequences of techniques on clients, who are either lying face up, lying face down, seated, or on their side. There is constant body contact between the therapist and the client, but rather than rubbing on muscles, the body is compressed, pulled, stretched, and rocked.

Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage

Ashiatsu is a unique style of massage therapy in which the therapist uses gravity and their bare feet, as well as their hands to apply pressure. Although the word “Ashiatsu” literally translated means foot “ashi”, pressure “atsu” in Japanese, Ashiatsu therapists also use their hands and upper body when appropriate.  Ashiatsu is often referred to as ‘barefoot Shiatsu’ as Shiatsu means finger “shi”, pressure “atsu” in Japanese, although Ashiatsu is not as structured as Shiatsu, perhaps due to its informal origins. This hand or foot pressure is applied to specific trigger points or in long compression strokes, depending on the client’s needs.

Benefits of Ashiatsu Massage:

Deep relaxation from deep, broad strokes of the feet

Up to 3X the pressure of traditional massage

Relieve tight muscles

Reduce stress

Stimulate therapeutic capabilities of the body.

CUPPING

Cupping has the ability to affect and create movement of body fluids, organs, fascial restrictions, and joints. Cups are applied to the skin and a light suction created in order to lift and separate layers of skin, muscle, and connective tissue. This process also causes the blood vessels to dilate and increase local circulation.

Benefits of Cupping:

Remove fascial restrictions to increase range of motion

Stimulates hair roots and sweat glands

Increases temperature and circulation of skin

Detoxification from poisons in the body

Loosen tight muscles

Decrease chronic joint pain related to barometric pressure changes

Decompress spinal joints

Decreases appearance of scars and cellulite

Decreases congestion over lungs

Stimulate digestive organs and fluids

Effective in decreasing high blood pressure

REFLEXOLOGY

Foot Reflexology is specific massage to various points on the feet that relate to the organs and systems in the body. It feels great, helps restore balance in your body and relieves tension. During a treatment, you can experience deep relaxation and calm emotions.

Studies show that Foot Reflexology can reduce pain and anxiety and can reduce fatigue. This targeted service can also address specific issues in your body like migraines. Although it can’t specifically treat individual diseases or replace standard medical care, it does help your body release stress. This release helps your body to heal when it is dealing with an illness.

CBD MASSAGE

CBD (cannabidiol) has a myriad of health and wellness benefits that comes in several different forms. But when it comes to massages, CBD products fit perfectly. In fact, CBD topicals provide one of the easiest ways to take advantage of CBD's benefits and can be used to target specific areas of the body that require particular attention for pain relief.

By implementing CBD massage oils and topicals, you can benefit both from the relaxing and invigorating effects of a massage with the medicinal pain and discomfort relieving effects of CBD.

So, how does CBD benefit the body when incorporated into a massage? Before we get into that, let's briefly talk about how CBD works in the first place.

 HOW DOES CBD WORK?
All of the medicinal benefits that CBD is able to offer comes down to how it interacts with the endocannabinoid system in the body. This system is responsible for regulating a number of crucial factors in the body including appetite, sleep, memory, pain and immune function.

Cannabinoids that are naturally produced in the body interact with this system to influence these factors, and CBD (a cannabinoid itself) can also interact with the endocannabinoid system to induce similar effects.

The endocannabinoid system includes two specific types of cannabinoid receptors: CB1 and CB2. While CB1 receptors are more predominantly found in the brain, CB2 receptors are found in abundance all over the rest of the body.

Unlike THC, which binds to CB1 receptors and inevitably causes a "high" as a result of its psychoactive properties, CBD has an indirect effect on both receptors without actually binding to them. This is why it doesn't cause any mind-altering effects while still offering a wealth of benefits.

When included in a massage, CBD's interaction with your natural endocannabinoid system can induce a number of highly beneficial effects.

BENEFITS OF CBD IN A MASSAGE
There are a number of reasons why you should consider getting a CBD-infused massage, including:

Reduce inflammation. Inflammation is directly linked with acute pain, particularly at joints or in muscles. By applying CBD topicals directly to the affected areas, the cannabinoid's natural anti-inflammatory effects can help to reduce the inflammation and therefore relieve any discomfort being experienced due to sore muscles.

Inflammation is essentially the body's response to a threat to your health. In the case of physical trauma or strenuous activity, inflammation can arise in response, which tends to show itself in the form of pain, swelling, redness and soreness. CBD can help target and reduce inflammation because of its unique ability to indirectly interact with the CB1 and CB2 receptors of the endocannabinoid system.

In particular, CBD has a bigger impact on the CB2 receptor that affects the immune system. Since the immune response to an outside threat is inflammation, CBD's ability to target the CB2 receptor can effectively reduce inflammation.

Reduce chronic pain. There could be several reasons why people suffer from chronic pain. Whether from overuse, an injury that never properly healed, or pain suffered as a result of a medical disorder, chronic pain can be debilitating. But adding CBD oils into a regular massage routine can help a great deal.

More people are turning to CBD to help them to deal with pain management. In addition to reducing inflammation (a great pain-reliever itself), CBD can also increase blood flow throughout the areas affected and soothes muscle tension.

CBD oil has also been found to help reduce blood pressure, alleviate stress and speed up the recovery of muscles that have experienced injury or overuse. During a CBD massage, CBD can help to naturally loosen muscles to reduce pain and inflammation to allow for faster healing.

Improve skin health. When CBD is applied directly into the skin during a massage, it can actually promote skin health. Again, CBD's interaction with the endocannabinoid receptors can help to reduce inflammation, often a culprit behind acne. It can also help to reduce the production of oil in the skin further reducing blemishes. In addition, CBD contains linoleic acid, which further helps to regulate oil production on the skin and stop breakouts.

Alleviate anxiety and stress. Getting a massage is already a great way to reduce stress, and adding CBD into the mix can help your mind relax even more. Many studies have shown that CBD has potent anti-anxiety properties and an incredible ability to induce calming, relaxing effects without getting a person stoned — unlike THC.

When applied in appropriate doses, CBD can treat any number of disorders related to anxiety including PTSD, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and phobias.
